My New Best Friend: Initial Review of The Bissell Powerforce 1520 Comapct Vacuum
A couple of days ago I brought home my new best friend and I just couldn’t wait to share her with you! Allow me to tell you how we came to meet and how I know this is the beginning of a new friendship!
I really love German Shepherds and have been contemplating getting another puppy in a few months but our German Shepherd, Dallas, is the main reason I have to sweep constantly. His hair engulfs EVERYTHING. You can never escape it. If you dare not sweep everyday be prepared for the consequences. I was afraid that two dogs means twice the amount of hair. If that were the case I would just have to abandon our home because I am 8 months pregnant and sweeping has been killing my back! We had a vacuum that clunked out a few months ago but I wasn’t able to use it the way I wanted because it was so heavy and wasn’t easy to maneuver.
Anyway, my nesting desire is in full effect. We are working like mad to get some of these projects done ( posts coming soon) before baby girl gets here ( who we still have not officially given a name, by the way)! I needed a better solution to removing the hair and dust Dallas brings in on a daily. I’ve been contemplating getting one of those Roombas, but our floors aren’t finished. I needed a solution NOW. A quick search on google and that is where Powerforce and I first meet! The reviews for her were great but I was a little surprised because her cost was only about $40! I bought it online and picked it up at my local Walmart.
We were nervous about it meeting our needs because when we pulled it out of the box it was so light and small. Hubby asked me a few times about the reviews…I assured him they had been good. We could only test it and see. We plugged it in to give a try right away. Let me tell you!!! She performed wonderfully! She was light weight and agile, reaching under the desk in my room without much trouble. She gobbled up the dog hair like a beast! We do not have a lot of carpet in our house, it’s mostly hardwood and our old vacuum’s air output used to just blow the hair around the hardwood. But not my friend Powerforce! I was so excited when I saw this because it meant no more fighting the hair with a broom and not being able to completely get it all up! I’m just soooo excited and can’t wait to see what this relationship blossoms into over the next few months. I will definitely keep you all abreast on our adventures over time because maybe you are looking for a new friend too!
